How to start professional Forex trading?

Forex trading journey is very difficult

It’s been 12 years since I first started trading. It’s 2024. I started trading in 2012. My memory isn’t great, and you’ll soon know that about me, but I started trading around 2012. It’s been a long journey, well, and a lot harder than most people think. When they first started trading, I was required to sacrifice a lot to work hard and be incredibly persistent and diligent, it was really hard, it was a very difficult journey, to become a Forex trader.

Forex trading journey is very difficult

To be where I am today, it’s been emotional, you know, that’s the best way to sum it up, it’s been a very emotional journey and it’s been exciting at times and it’s been very rewarding at times but it’s also been frustrating and discouraging and it’s been demanding. I’ve been incredibly persistent and committed, you know, you gotta get up when you get stuck, it’s been 12 years, and the last two years of trading for me have been very good, very good.

Probably the best two years I’ve ever traded forex very profitable and very consistent and that’s the other reason why I wanted to create this article is because I feel like in the last two years I’ve gone from a mid-level trader to a professional and I say that with pride I don’t say that to be proud because He says look at me, look at what I have achieved but I am in awe, I have a great sense of accomplishment and pride in myself for what has happened over the past 12 years.

Especially in the last couple of years now I’m a good trader, a good currency trader, I understand the markets I’m trading in and I anticipate interest rates and changes and shifts in monetary policy, I understand why the market moves, why it reacts to certain news events, I’m a risk expert, I’m consistent, I’m… I feel emotionally free most of the time.

The Temptations of Forex Trading Emotions

When it comes to my trading, I used to tell people that you can’t control your trading emotions, you can only really reduce them. I think this is true but I would consider myself a total master now when it comes to trading emotions, they rarely tempt me or influence my trading decisions.

I’m not just a forex trader, I’m a forex investor, I forecast interest rates and economic indicators over the next couple of years, I can make good trades that are open for a few years and they are profitable, I see profitable trading opportunities and take them, and I don’t want to be misunderstood, as I don’t I manage to catch all the swings.

How to start professional Forex trading?

I have lost trades and in a lot of them I have a downside drawdown, I don’t have a crystal ball I’m not a perfect trader but I am a good trader and a very good trader and this article is going to be part of a series because I can’t cover it all in one article.

But I want to cover my trip Forex trading professionalism how I got to where I am today and what I’ve done differently in the last couple of years to see such an improvement in my performance, so it’s been tough you know, I’ve been doing this for 12 years now but it took a long time over a decade to go from An average level trader who is better than most traders.

Most traders don’t make profits are they just don’t make it but going from an average level trader to someone who is more successful and uh knows what they are doing I want to talk about my learning curve and what I did to get to where I am today I also want to talk About some of the milestones, setbacks and achievements along the way.

Coding a lot of pairs in Forex trading

Coding a lot of pairs in forex trading I think it makes sense for new or established traders to code 28 charts, well I don’t trade gold, I don’t trade silver, I don’t trade oil, I’ve historically stuck with the weird majors and minors in Forex, I leave them alone But the majors and minors have been fine with me and that’s what I trade.

My learning curve and I have to make sure I don’t miss anything if I forget to say something I can cover it in my next article I think it’s okay so my learning curve there’s a lot that I’ve learned over the last 12 years and I I could probably create a day-long article covering everything I’ve learned but to keep things short, let me consolidate what I’ve learned into three types of technical skills.

Types of Forex Technical Skills

Technical analysis is the basic fundamental skill, then psychological skills, and therefore mastery of trading Emotions and technical skills are probably the best place to start, because that’s where I started 12 years ago, and I didn’t start with technical skills because I didn’t know anything about technical analysis Or anything like that.

So to be completely honest with you, I wanted to trade. I opened an account with a CFD broker, and it was plus 500, not a broker I trade with now, but you know in 2012, when you knew nothing about trading, plus 500 showed up at the top of Google, so I went with them and had some success trading CFDs on Forex currencies.

Summary

I think I’ll look for S setups to complete this sequence that we looked at on the higher time frame, Let me see what the system does, yeah okay, so they’ll like, we’ll move it, and let’s rescale this on the four yeah, okay, we’ve played off that trend line, yeah what I’ll be looking for for the price, the price might move to the upside again to that weekly area when 1384 then pulls back to start moving to the downside, now what I would look for to indicate that we are going to get this move longer term is a break of the 4-hour trend line which is the 4 hour chart where we are now.
